Home Decorating

To decorate after a theme is easier than you might think. Seek inspiration online, in magazines and in books. If you want an exotic theme in a room you can go for colourful fabrics, candles, soft pillows and rugs, huge green plants and low tables. If you´re not interested in decorating a whole room after a theme, it is both fun and pretty to decorate just a small part of your apartment or house – for example your balcony. A Rainy Day

A Rainy Day A Rainy Day

Even though spring often start with great weather and crowded parks, you probably need to face reality; it will rain someday. But don’t worry! Malmoe has lots of places to see on a rainy day. Here’s your guide on what to do on a rainy Malmoe day!

Go to the movies!

This is something you usually do in the evening but it can actually be pretty cozy to keep indoors and imagine the rain pouring outside. If on a Monday and in season, you can visit Doc Lounge, a documentary film club which weekly shows new documentaries of current relevance. Moreover, they have both a bar, comfy cushions on the floor and dj’s. Starts at 7pm. Otherwise you can visit Cinemateket film club at cinema Biograf Spegeln.

Be cultural!

Malmoe has a number of museums you ought to pay a visit, the mandatory preschool visit does not count. Malmö Museer (Malmoe museum) is a good choice, here you get both natural history, medieval handicraft, submarines and photography. At Teknikens och sjöfartens hus(The House of Technology and Shipping )you can spend hours testing light, sound, speed and other thighs bringing back your old knowledge in physics. At Slottsholmen, next to Malmöhus slott (The castle of Malmoehus) you find Malmö Konstmuseum (Malmoe Art Gallery), exhibiting nordic art from the 16th century ‘til present. Here you’ll find rococo furniture and paintings by Carl Fredrik Hill.

Be intellectual

Malmö Stadsbibliotek (Malmoe City Library) is not just for research and essay-writing. Try coming here just for your own delight. No matter if you’re interested in formula one, cooking or evolutional history you’ll easily find something to dig in to. You can borrow video games and read magazines as well, always good fun when raining.

Bargaining

Take the opputunity to shop while waiting for the bad weather to pass! To minimize the risk of getting wet you can go to IKEA or a mall, like Triangeln Köpcentrum or Hansa. Or why not visit the indoors flea markets, f. ex. Marknadsbörsen and Friishallen/Antikt & Sånt, both full of bargains. Here you might be able to find things you’ll need for sunnier days- chairs for the balcony, flower pots and such. Then when you get home you might want to grab the opportunity to make your place look that extra bit summery: maybe plant some flowers?

Pizza in front of the telly

Last but not least you can always sink down in front of your telly or computer and watch a maraton of TV series! For a perfect day at home you need pizza and that is something Malmoe’s good at. The best pizza in town you find at Två Markiser, near by Möllevångstorget. Here you can get gourmet pizzas with mozzarella cheese and fresh herbs. Otherwise, rainy days are actually pretty good to get a hand of household economy , call those relatives you probably should have talked to long ago or clean the house. Have a nice day!
